i just finished reading Gathering Blue by Lois Lowry. It is such a sad but powerful story that tells the meaning of life. i learned to look at like a different way now. The story is about a girl who has no parrents she meets a boy who also has no parents. it is about the life of these two friends facing their difficulties together. It was a good book.
I recently finished In Cold Blood by Truman Capote and liked it al ot.
This is a true story about a horrifing murder in Kansas. Two men, Richard and Perry go to a house and grusomely murder a family of five. Although it is sad, you can read about the justice given to the two men from a witness of the trial. When the sentence comes down you can even see an inside into the prison life. You will enjoy it

I just read The Amityville Horror by Jay Anson. This is an interesting and scarry book. The worst part is that its true. The story is about a family who moves into a demonically infested house. They start to see frightning images, things moving and a mysterious ghost pig with red eyes that constinently haunts them. After 28 days, the family moves, but the demons follow. This is frightning, but page turning. You will enjoy it
I finished The Innocent Man by John Grisham. It was a very good book. The true story is about a man namedf Ron Willmoson who lives in a small town in Oklahoma. Although he isn’t the most upstanding citizen, what happened to him was unfair. Ron and his friend, Dennis Friez, are accused and convicted for the murder of a young girl. The prosecution was extreamly weak and there were many lying witnesses and prison snitches. Dennis is sentenced to life and Ron is sentenced to death. In the book you can read about their trial and the outcome in this exciting tale.

I loved Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K Rowling and compleated it last night. I have read the seris and enjoyed every one. In this final book of the seris, Hary has to face challenges that he has never faced. With Ron and Hermoine behind him, they complete the top secret misson that Dumbledore had assingned then a year earlier. In the end Harry and Voldemort meet face to face in the final battle. Find out who triumphs.

I finished reading Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. I have to say this is one of my favorite books. I read it non-stop and finished it in two days. It shows the possibility of the future based on the human want for higher tecnology and beauty that trasforms the world. Unfortunatly, according the this novel the future is not looking very good. This book will keep you reading strait through ’til the end.
I just finished pretties by Scott Westerfeld. This is the second book in the Uglies trilogy. In this book, the characters from the previous book start to realize how small and preserved their community really is. As they start to fight against the goverment, the govrnment fights back (and they don’t belive in playing nice). As they attempt to save the world (and possibly try to start a new one) they start to wonder if the will succeed.
I loved the book Emako Blue by Brenda Woods. This book is a quick and easy read. Most the characters in the book live in poor communities and broken homes. As the book begins, it tells the details of Emakos funeral. Then the following chapters are the other characters telling about the good, and bad times the had with her. As the story goes on you see the effect she had on each and every one of them. In the end they all draw the same conclution; Emako Blue was supposed to be a star.
The war within the cities is over in the final book in the Uglies trilogy by Scott Westerfeld. The teens finaly realize the power they have over the citizens when they put their minds to it. But you will be surprised who the winners are.
I read the choose your own adventure book Master of Karate. You get to choose your own ending and what happens next. It is sooooo hard to pick cause you never no whats goin to happen next.
I read the Cat Royal series and I couldn’t put them down! They are about a mischievous orphan named Catherine (“Cat”) Who was left on the doorstep of a theater as an infant and now as a young teenager becomes caught up in countless adventures that bring her everywhere from the theater to a dark alleyway to a fancy ballroom to France as a spy to the king’s navy disguised as a boy to a battlefield onstage as a fledgling actor to a plantation as an indentured slave to a sickbed to a crime lord’s mansion and even to a pirate ship. You never know who you can trust. I have read and re-read all five books too many times to count!
I agree with Emma andGathering Blue is a must need boook for all who haven’t read it yet. But my suggestion is to read THE GIVER first it connects with GATHERING BLUE in a whole new way you wouldn’t imagine. There is a third book in the sequal but I forgot the name. Trust me you have to read the three books
I read Brian’s Winter wich is the second book (after Hachet) in the hachet series. It is officially one of my favorite books. It is about a boy named brian who in the first book is in a ploane crash and has to live on his own and use the land to live.
I finished All Quiet On the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque this week and liked it a lot. It is about a group of young german boys who have to fight on the front lines in World War I. Together they discover friendship as they battle the hardships assigned to them. The main charcter, PaulBuamer, is a young foot soldier who feels he will never be the same again. As he watches men all around him fall he refers to himself and his company as’ Insesable dead men, who through some trick, some dreadful magic, are still able to run and kill.’ As the war goes on, Paul finds more horror on the Western Front.
Today, I finished Silence Of the Lambs by Thomas Harris. The book is very interesting and hard to put down. It is about a detective in the F.B.I., Clarice Starling, who is working to catch serial killer ‘Buffulo Bill’. However, Clarice is assinigned to interrigate a madman in an asylum, Hannibal Lecter. The theroy is that to catch one, the F.B.I needs to study the other. When the daughter of a senator is kidnapped, Clarice needs Lector to find her and race against time to catch Buffulo Bill before he claims another victem. I recommend this book to anyone who loves action and crime.
I read Gathering Blue by Lois Lowry. This is a book will keep your mind working. It’s about a krippled teen named Kira. Suddenly her mother, and only her mother becomes ill leaving Kira an orphan. With her only friend, a boy named matt, she doesnt know how she will go on. Then she is taken to the Council of Guardians who allows her to live because of her special gift. There she meets two other orphans who also have special gifts. When Matt notices the pattern, he runs off leaving kira unable to run after him.
I read Getting the Girl by Susan Juby. This book was good, it started out with a boy, named Sherman Mack, having a crush on Dini. When Dini starts to date “Lester the molester”, Sherman realizes that the last girl he dated got defiled. Determined to stop it he starts investigating whose behind all the defiling (read the book to figure out what defiling is).
I read Invisible by Pete Hautman. This book was really thought-provoking. At times, I was really confused! But in the end everything finally came together. In this book, Doug Hanson is a nerd, he spends his time building a match stick replica of the Golden Gate Bridge. Doug’s best friend Andy is a football star and extremely popular, they talk from their bedroom windows at night. Throughout the book, Doug slowly starts to remember what has happened earlier in his life, and he has to come to terms with it.
I read One Night by Margaret Wild. This book was so unique. The whole story is in poems. In this book Helen makes a mistake and becomes pregnant, this story is of her relying on her own skills and independence to care for herself and her baby.
I read What the Moon Saw by Laura Resau. This book was amazing. IN this book, Clara Luna gets an invitation to spend the summer with the grandparents shes never met. She gets a shock when she realizes that they live in a tiny remote village. Through the summer she learns more about what it means to be alive and more about why her grandmother know “things”.
I read Just Listen by Sarah Dessen. This book is so good! The author made the main character, Annabel, so human. you could relate with her experiences so well. In this book, Annabel after losing her best friend over a bad experience, makes a new friend Owen out if the most unlikely circumstances. As she struggles to get her life back together, so does her sister Whitney.
I read Pretty Face by Mary Hogan. This book for me was so relevant to me. In this book, Hayley hates her body. And living in Santa Monica doesnt help her body issues. When her parents send her to live with family friends in Italy for the summer, Hayley realizes shes not been living her life to the fullest. She also learns the real reason her mother sent her to Italy.
I read Crank by Ellen Hopkins. This book was written in poem and i couldn’t imagine it any other way. In this book, Kristina, or her alternative identity Bree, get involved with the “monster” aka Crystal Meth. This book shows what happens when she get involved in the wrong situations and the consequences that follow. This book is definitely for older kids because of the content, but its sooo good.
I read Glass by Ellen Hopkins. This book is the sequel to Crank so its also told in poems. It picks up with Kristina’s life a year later. After having her son and being sober for 9 months, she goes back on the “monster”. She soon falls back into the world of drug addiction. She finds another boy to supply her with the drug. And she is soon trying to control her world and convince herself she can live while shes on Crystal Meth.
I read Burned by Ellen Hopkins(I really enjoy the poem format that she follows). In this book, Pattyn lives with her very religious family. When she acts out she gets sent to live with her mysterious aunt for a summer. While shes there she learns the real meaning of love and what its like to lose someone you love. This book is so good. I have to admit, I cried a little at the end.
I read A Bad Boy can be Good for a Girl by Tanya Lee Stone. This book is also written in poem. Although this wasn’t my favorite book this summer, it was still a good book. This book is writing in three parts each told by a separate girl. They are all describing their relationship with a popular boy at school. This book is also for older kids because it involves adult relations. Not very graphic, but still.
I read The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. This book was about a boy named Charlie, going into high school and dealing with all the normal issues. But Charlie expresses his feelings and experiences through letters with a stranger. What makes this book is good is the fact that Charlie is so naive and his emotions are so genuine.
I read The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. This is my all time favorite book! i can’t wait for the sequel coming out in September! This book is amazing, ‘nuf said. I have read so many books but this one just towers above the rest. Katniss volunteers to go in place of her sister in a annual event they call the “hunger games”. Which basically is 24 kids placed in an large enclosure and meant to battle it out until there’s one left alive.
