I recently read THE CRONICLES OF VLADMIR TOD. The book is about Vladmir(or Vlad), a vampire who is in 8th grade. His vampire and mortal parents were murdered and Vlad has to figure out his powers himself. He lives with a family friend Nelly who gets him blood to drink. Vlad’s favorite teacher is missing and he believes his subsetute teacher was his parents murderer. I highly suggest this book.
I just finished Geek Charming by Robin Palmer. This novel is a modern take on The Princess and the Frog fairytale. Dylan Shoenfield is meant to be the “princess” as she is Castle Heights High School Royalty due to her popularity. While Josh Rosen is meant to be the “frog” due to his geeky love for films. Each chapter switches between Dylan’s perspective and then Josh’s which I really enjoyed. Palmer’s Geek Charming is a fun and laugh out loud read. However, I warn your that in this modern fairy tale the princess and the frog don’t kiss.
I am reading right now ‘Pricker Boy’, to get ready for the author visit. At first this books seemed very strange, but it is getting creepier and makes more sense.
I have just finished reading Love bites by Ellen Schreiber. This is the 7th book in the vampire kisses series. Like a lot of books today, it’s about a human girl who falls in love with a vampire boy, and the trials and tribulations that go with that. All and all I enjoyed this book. However there is only so much you can get from a hundred and sixty page book, so I would not recommend this book to someone looking for a thousand page tome like Atlas Shrugged. I would recommend this book for those looking for a fun quick read.
After watching just one episode of Pretty Little Liars, I decided to read the book. It tells about four friends(Aria, Spencer, Emily, and Hanna) all dealing will the loss of their best friend Alison. Then, after the police find Ali’s body, the girls start getting messages from someone called A. A threatening to tell people about secrets they only told Ali. As you continue reading the book, it tells how the girls struggle to keep A silenced and away. Unfortunately, the first book doesn’t give you all the answers, you have to read books 1-8. Book one stays true to the series saying. “You can’t trust a pretty girl with an ugly secret” Sara Shepard did a great job writing this book.
After reading Pretty Little Liars, I decided I needed to find out more about Alison, so I read Alison’s Pretty Little Diary. This book gives you an inside look at Alison’s life, and you find out things you wouldn’t expect. You find out why Alison is the way she is, discover out how she found out all those ugly secrets, and learn why she has so many enemies. And lastly, you find out why she choose Aria, Spencer, Emily, and Hanna to be her best friends….and the reason will surprise you. In this book, Sara Shepard gives you an inside look on the pretty girl with ALL the ugly secrets.
