Teen Programs!

So we have some fun programs for teens, where you can also earn 5 raffle entries if you come!  We didn’t have much of a crowd for “Dream Interpretation” but I think it is such a neat program that we are going to reschedule if we have any interest in it. Ms Patty is really great at understanding your dreams and what they mean for you – there are cultural symbols that we all tend to use but in different ways. Don’t worry – just because you have a weird dream doesn’t mean anything about you!  So if you are interested, let us know and we will hold that program again.

On Tuesday July 10 we have MIDNIGHT SNACK and a showing of the classic horror movie Dracula! Drop me a note if you plan on coming to that one so we can plan accordingly for snacks. We will make our own soda and other goodies to eat while we watch the movie.

Zombification is filling up but there are still some spots left. This program is just awesome – I want to be made into a zombie!

And be sure to come and here local author Lynda Mullaly Hunt talk about her new book, One for the Murphys – I just read it on vacation and it is great!

More info on these programs can be found on the “Summer Programs” page on this blog or call us at 295-6210

AFTER DARK – Teen Summer Reading Program 2012

Our Summer Reading Kick-off Night is Monday, June 18 at 6pm! That’s when you can begin signing up for the Teen Summer Reading Program. We will have a funny show by Comic Mime, Robert Rivest that night at 6:30pm.  The theme this year is ‘NIGHT’, so wait til you see the fun programs we have planned!

I’m in the process of updating all the games on here, so starting Monday, things should be all set. Please stop in at RML to register for summer reading so you can participate – we must have your name and phone on the list. You can get copies of the games at the Library, or print them off here – the links will be up by Monday.

For summer reading purposes, we define “teen’ as anyone 12 or older, or going into 7th grade in the fall. See Ms Eileen with any questions.

Thinking About Summertime…

So here at RML, I spend alot of April and May planning the Summer Reading Program. This year, the theme is “Night” and the Teen Slogan is “Own the Night” – although we weren’t thrilled with it and are thinking of changing it to “Up All Night” – what do you think?

Anyway, while going through some materials and online resources, I can across some winners from a teen promo contest for the “Own the Night” slogan – held in a few different states. Thought I would share some with you over the next few weeks  just for fun…

Hunger Games Movie Wrap-up…

So I went last Sunday to see Hunger Games – have you seen it?  I did enjoy it, though as always, not as good as the book.  What did you think? I thought all the actors were pretty well selected for the roles. Made me want to read the 2nd one, again! Because I can’t remember what happens – the details at least. Surprisingly, talking with Ms Patty, I realized that I didn’t cry at the movie (even the Rue part) – and I cry at EVERYTHING!

So thoughts?
